Russell Triple Crown title up for grabs at Sears Point.

It's not soccer, but the United States and Brazil will square off this weekend at Sears Point Raceway in Sonoma, Calif.

Brazilian Victor Hugo Queiroz and Californian Chris Carmody (Valencia) will battle for the 2002 USAC Russell Triple Crown Pro Series Championship in a 30-minute race on the 2.52-mile road course as part of this weekend's Dodge SaveMart 350 weekend activities.

A Friday qualifying session will help form the grid for the 2:30 pm Saturday race. The series is presented by Yokohama.

Queiroz and Carmody are tied for the series lead after Carmody won the opener at Irwindale, Calif. in April and Queiroz won at Sears Point in May. Queiroz finished as the 2001 runner-up behind champion Ross Fonferko, while Carmody did not compete last year.

A total of 26 points are available this Saturday, so Jason Bowles and John Mefford, third and fourth respectively in the standings, also harbor hope of overtaking the leaders.
