Chrysler is to supply 3.5 litre V6 engines for Europe's newest single seat championship, the International Single-Seater Challenge that will support the FIA GT Championship next year. The final calendar has yet to be ratified by the FIA World Council, which meets this Friday, but will start at Monza on April 1.

The chassis, tested so far by Guy Smith, are to come from Champ car specialists Reynard, the engines will be taken from Chrysler's 300M/Dodge Intrepid. Series co-ordinator Nigel Wordsworth will meet with Chrysler representatives next Tuesday to establish their financial involvement. Reynard has already underwritten the development costs of the chassis.

Twenty cars have been built and seven sold, though Wordsworth says that he has plenty of interest from teams. The series will be pitched aboveFormula Three, but below F3000. Wordsworth is hoping that Reynard will award the first champion with a test in the BAR Grand Prix car.
