Tomas Pivoda entered the last round of the 2008 International Formula Master at Monza. The 17-year-old Czech driver was back where the season started with preseason testing, and shown to have capitalized from his recent outings, keeping a good momentum. In Practice and Qualifying, Tomas encountered some problems in finding the right tii for his flying lap due to bad weather, and ended up in 24th place on the grid. On Race 1 though, he made up and managed to stay in the pack all-day long, taking 13th place. On Race 2, he stayed with the main rivals, lowering his laptimes consistently compared to his first outings. Pivoda will now have the chance to measure his improvement in terms of experience, since the final round of the Formula Master Italia will take off in just a few days at Monza, and will be enabled to count on some good reference points.
"In qualifying I struggled a bit with yellow and red flags due to weather, as I couldn't manage to clock a clean lap. On Race 1 things improved consistently, and I ended up in 13th despite a slightly damaged front. On Race 2 I improved my position one spot, running well while fighting understeer".
