FM: Erik Janis and Filip Salaquarda will race for team I.S.R. in Formula Master
Erik Janis and Filip Salaquarda will be colleagues in team I.S.R. in Formula Master Championship in this year. Twenty-one years old native from Olomouc and four years older Filip from Prague will pass all eight weekends. Two within Formula 1 and six within WTCC Championship. Each of weekends brings two races. Eurosport, respectively Eurosport 2 will broadcast all races. Czech team leaded by Igor Salaquarda waits for first season with Czech drivers and believes in front positions.
Both drivers are experienced from formula races. Erik is acting Rookies Champion of Euroseries F3 and before he raced for Czech colours in A1GP. Even Filip has a well knowledge of these both series whereas he raced in Formula 3000. He passed whole previous season in Formula Master as well. New colleagues have been friends from childhood.
Filip began in go-kart team of Erik's father. One of this year's event of Formula Master will take place in Brno (20.-21.June). So fans of Czech group can look forward to direct contact with domestic drivers.
Erik Janis: "The new contract is really good news for me. After last year's rookies champion in Euroseries F3, I hoped in continuing formula career. And have to say that it came true when I became driver of I.S.R. team. Big thanks belongs to my manager Antonin Charouz and to team boss Igor Salaquarda. I found team already in season 2007 when I passed races in Port and Anderstorp. Formula Master from many kinds of view is very interesting championship. There is a integrade to higher formula races. Eurosport will broadcast all races, that's good. The races are within of WTCC and will be hosting in two F1 weekends. I take really positively five two-days tests which I will realize on circuits where we will be racing after. I don't have to forget about Czech fans - one race will be in Brno. I hope, I will not disappoint them."
Filip Salaquarda: "I look forward to new season a lot to be honest. I'm really glad to cooperate with Erik in our team. We know each other from childhood and I even raced in his father's Jaroslav team in go-kart. We are friends and I think we will helpfull to each other. I hope that I will not have any bad luck. I could make some good results in last season but always some of my untimely rivals deprived me of them."
Igor Salaquarda, team boss: " I think we have got really good line-up for this year. I welcome Erik's comeback who raced for us in Porto and Anderstorp 2007. As well as Filip, he has got experience from Formula 3. And they think about the success with this kind of experience. Except of quality of our technical backstage, there is very good that both know each other very well. Filip got title go-kart champion of Erik's father team. Boys became friends since that time."
Antonin Charouz, manager of Erik Janis: "I'm really pleased that we managed good place for Erik in good team and in so good Championship. Team of Igor Salaquarda is very experienced. I believe that both drivers could struggle for highest positions."
