Giacomo Piccini signs with Imola Racing for the Italian Formula 3 Championship.

Giacomo Piccini has just confirmed a deal with the Imola Racing team. The young Tuscan will make his debut in the Italian Formula 3 championship at the wheel of the Dallara single seater in less than a week on the international Santa Monica race track of Misano Adriatico.

The strong first test on the same race track last week, has convinced the "emiliano-romagnola" team to bet on Giacomo's talent, regardless of his debut in this category.

Giacomo Piccini was born in San Sepolcro (Arezzo) on 22/03/1985.He is 1,77m tall and weighs 64kg. His favourite hobbies are listening to music and motor cross. After a significant experience in Cart, he made his debut on a single seater in the Formula Ford championship. He was in third place overall. Last season, he competed in the Formula Renault Monza championship and due to a few problems of various sorts, finished in fifth place . However his talent did not go unnoticed especially after his great performance at the SPA race. He was last in line due to a technical problem but managed in just 9 laps to regain 20 positions. He ended the race in fifth place with the best lap time.

Giacomo Piccini:

"What can I say. I'm very enthusiastic about racing in the Italian Formula 3 championship with a well prepared team like Imola Racing . I surely won't have time to celebrate seeing that the first race of the season is in a few days. I didn't have the possibility do many tests with this car but this is no excuse for me. I proved to be a very competitive driver last year in the Formula Renault Monza In this new category, my objectives are clear: to gain significant experience and to show off my qualities as a fast race car driver."
