The F1 track of Monza (I), scene of the penultimate date of the Italian Formula 3 Championship, gave immediately good outcomes to Coloni Motorsport, frontrunner of the Friday free practice with both his drivers, Christian Montanari and Marco Bonanomi.

In the first session the Sammarinese Christian Montanari brought on the front row the all-new Lola-Dome F106 / Mugen-Honda, with the excellent time of 1.49.282, only a few thousandths off the pole. Things went good for Marco Bonanomi too: the young Italian set a time of 1.50.010, taking the fourth position.

In the afternoon then both the Coloni Motorsport's drivers improved their performances: Montanari confirmed his second position with a time of 1.49.213, while Bonanomi --even if he substantially improved his result (1.49.213)- couldn't earn more positions.

Coloni Motorsport showed one more time the extreme competitiveness of the Lola-Dome F106 and of his drivers, on a demanding track like Monza, one of the F1 circus circuits, where the Italian team wants to repeat the wonderful result taken at Imola and Mugello.

Saturday afternoon the final qualifying session, which will assign the pole for the race on Sunday 28th.

Free Practice -- 1st session
Christian Montanari 2° - 1.49.282

Free Practice -- 2nd session
