4 May, 2003 - In his second Ford Racing Australian Formula Ford Championship event Adam Graham continued to climb the steep learning curve this weekend at Sydney's Eastern Creek Raceway.

With the opening practice session Graham's first view of the venue at speed the aim for the weekend was to continually improve throughout the weekend.

After the two practice sessions 18-year-old Graham was feeling comfortable in the Super Cheap Auto Spectrum.

During the opening qualifying session Graham was caught up in traffic for several laps and when he did get clear on his final lap he spun on the last corner. Prior to this spin he was confident of improving his qualifying effort as he had set the fastest sectors of any of his previous qualifying laps.

With the majority of the field setting their fastest qualifying lap in that opening session Graham was placed 20th on the grid for the fist of two 9-lap races.

Continuing to come to grips with the tricky Eastern Creek circuit Graham was confident of improving his position in the opening 9-lap event.

With a brake problem hindering his performance Graham dropped to 23rd at the finish.

"From the moment I took off the line it appeared as I had some sort of problem with the brake and despite my best effort I couldn't match any of my lap times," commented Graham after Race One.

With the brake problem rectified by the Borland Racing team Graham set about improving his position in the second race aboard the Super Cheap Auto Spectrum.

During the opening two laps the KartStars graduate passed several cars to be inside the top 20.

As the laps wore on Graham began to improve his lap times and bearing down on a top 15 finish before the race was cut short due to fading light.

When the chequered flag was displayed Graham was 17th across the line.

"In the second race I felt that I was really starting to gel with the car and everything was starting to come naturally," commented the 2002 Australian Formula A CIK Karting Champion.

"I am really looking forward to the next round at Winton. It is a track where I have done many laps around so I am confident of once again improving my position."

The next round of the 2003 Ford Racing Australian Formula Ford Championship will be held at Winton Raceway in Victoria on May 23-25.
