Michael Krumm finished fourth in the final round of the 2000 Formula Nippon Championship, held at the Suzuka Circuit today, securing second place in the series.

From the start Michael made a good getaway entering the first corner in third position, having passed championship leader Tora Takagi. Shinsuke Shibahara, who jumped the start collided with Michael in the next section and pushed him onto the grass allowing Tora Takagi through into fourth place.

Tora and Shinsuke would later collide allowing Michael back into fourth position, where he would finish the race.

" We had a fairly boring race, after the collision with Shibahara my car was not so good and I tried to challenge for third position, but did not want to risk to much as Motoyama winning the race meant I had to have points to secure second place.

This season has been my best in Formula Nippon, Tora has driven very well all year and has got the best from his equipment. We have challenged him on a number of occasions and Team 5Zigen has had one of there best seasons ever, so overall it has been a good year for us" Michael commented Sunday evening.
