The Irish driver Damien Faulkner re-enters the World Series with Zele

The Valencia Circuit will also held the finals of the Formula Nissan 2000 and the Spanish Formula Junior Championship

Franck Montagny will test at Valencia the updated version of the Nissan V6 engine with increased power

Barcelona, 10 October 2002 ­ The Dallara-Nissan cars, the fastest single-seaters in Europe, after Formula One, will be back at the Valencia track for the last European event before the amazing WORLD SERIES fly to South America. Zonta, Leinders and Montagny, the man in fight for the Title, will dispute two races, which will meant 20 points each. Ricardo Zonta has an advantage of 47 points from Leinders, while the Frenchman hopes to repeat his results achieved at this same track during the opening meeting. Montagny, third in the championship, will test the new version of the Nissan V6 engine fitted with the 2003 specs and increased power.

Damien Faulkner has signed a new deal with his original team, Zele Motorsport, for the last three meetings, so he will be seating again in the Dallara Nissan V6 cars. Zele Motorsport has been testing several young talents in the A-1 Ring during this week, like Kristian Kolby, Patrick Friesacher, Charles Hall or Hans Noihauser, amongst others. Rodrigo Sperafico is likely to be the second driver in the Meycom Repsol squad as Burgueño may not be totally recovered after his broken collarbone. On the other hand, Nicolás Filiberti will enter in the KTR team replacing the Brazilian Luciano Gomide. World Series team GD Racing is currently evaluating several drivers for the replacement of the French ace, Jonathan Cochet, who¹s deal expired after the Barcelona event.

In the Formula Nissan 2000, Matteo Bobbi and Santiago Porteiro, the two title contenders will race in search of the final victory. After the final decision made by the FFSA National Appeal Court, by whom Bobbi regained 20 points (victory at Magny Cours), the F1 European Minardi test driver has more chances to achieve his first FNissan 2000 title.

Local driver Adrián Vallés and his team, Escuela Lois Circuit, will be crown as first Formula Junior Champ in front of all his supporters.

The first step of this awesome competition platform formed by this 125 CV single-seaters will see the debut of two Canary young talents, Hector Suarez (TCR) and Javier Sosa (Skualo).

Both races from the World Series will be retransmitted LIVE in TVE (La 2) and Eurosport (20th of OCTOBER 11h45 and 14h15).
