Ford Formula Campus will hold season finale at Shanghai Tianma Circuit
Ford Formula Campus championship, the entry level single-seater series promoted by FRD, will have its final race weekend of the season at Shanghai Tianma Circuit (STC) on 31st October and 1st November in the Tianma Racing Festival. As Diana Rosario, the young female driver from Macau, claimed her championship title in the last race, the upcoming season finale is sure to be a fierce fight over 1st runner-up.
In the 2009 season, the championship features drivers from Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China. After the past 6 rounds Rosario performed extremely well and took an early championship title. Law Wai Lung, the young driver from Hong Kong with outstanding performance in HTCC, has shown good potential in formula racing and is currently 2nd on the points table. Filipe Souza and Daniel Gomes, two drivers who have demonstrated steady performance, are 3rd and 4th, respectively. Adriano Santo, the only driver who was taken a winner's trophy this season other than Rosario, is 5th with 18 points. Eric Kwong, who is also competing in the China Touring Car Championship (CTCC) 2000cc class, missed the last race weekend for personal reasons but indicated that he will give this weekend's races his best efforts, as he still has a good chance to go to the podium.
Formula Campus is a vehicle tailored for formula starters and has been the major choice for karting drivers to move to formula series. After next weekend's race finale, FRD will start to prepare for the 2010 season.
