Ford Formula Campus championship to bring excitement to Chengdu

After a very exciting race in Challenge Show (C1) race weekend at Shanghai International Circuit in August, the Ford Formula Campus championship will have its 3rd and 4th rounds on September 12th & 13th at the Chengdu International Circuit (CDIC).

FRD has sent its professional technical group to oversee the Ford Formula Campus race weekend. Peter Cui, Chief Mechanic for the FRD Formula Campus series said:" After the Shanghai races my team has had only two weeks to prepare the cars for the Chengdu race. We have just finished our inspection of the fleet and will make some adjustments to the cars after drivers begin testing." Pete Olson, FRD's professional data instructor, indicated that during the previous races the drivers improved a lot in terms of laptimes. "The Chengdu track is a rather demanding one. For some of my drivers, it will be their first race at this circuit and it will certainly be a challenge to all the drivers. I believe the drivers will get to know the track much better after Wednesday's Motec data analysis."

After the Shanghai race Diana Rosario, the female driver from Macau, continues to lead the championship with three wins and one first runner-up (total 38 points). Filipe Souza, another driver from Macau, is 2nd. Adriano do Espirito Santo, who joined the season during rounds 3 & 4 in Shanghai with a win and 2nd place, is 3rd. The Hong Kong driver Eric Kwong, on the other hand, is following Santo with only 2 points difference. With a close fight in the championship points table, the FFC Chengdu race is expected to be an exciting one.
