Synonymous with Italian motor racing, Monza has set the scene for some of the great events spanning the decades since its opening in 1922. Now a circuit of fast sweeping curves, despite recent efforts to tighten them, and long straights. Still a real speed test, just as the now crumbling concrete oval banked track was years earlier.

Monza is the third oldest permanent race track in the world, and during its 78-year history has played host to 63 races carrying the name of the Italian Grand Prix - the original banked concrete oval was built in just 110 days, opening in 1922, and it was last used for grand prix in 1961, prior to the building of the current facility.

On the 25th June Monza will play host to the 4th round of the Italian F3000 championship. The Benetton Junior Team has worked hard in preparation for this event and is looking forward to the 3rd official test also being held at Monza on Wednesday 21st June.

Andrej Pavicevic: "I look forward to racing at Monza especially as it will be my 1st time there. Monza is very mysterious and challenging. Being a high speed track immediately catches my attention and it should be exciting driving over those high kerbs. I have a full program in place for the Wednesday test which should be a good experience and I hope to regain the early season form we seem to have lost abit through reliability".
