The British Racing Drivers Club has awarded UK Formula Ford Champion Nathan Freke 'Rising Star' status. The award gives young drivers, who have caught the eye of the BRDC by their racing achievements, a junior membership to the BRDC. There are a maximum of 40 Rising Stars at any time and it is by invitation only, as is full membership. 'To be awarded a Rising Stars place by the BRDC is very special and allows me to use the facilities of the BRDC at Silverstone to conduct business meetings with potential sponsors and partners in an environment which is at the very heart of British Motorsport, commented Nathan.

Nathan will also be visiting another bastion of motorsport excellence this week, following his practical tests for the Young Driver of the Year Award last week at Snetterton, he will face a panel interview with the Judges at McLaren's F1 headquarters. The interviews combined with the driving tests will determine the winner of the award, which is announced at the Autosport Awards in Park lane on the 3rd December. Finger crossed.

In addition Nathan has launched a downloadable newsletter 'Speedfreke' available on his website www.nathan-freke.co.uk and click on the link 'Speedfreke -- issue one' The letter contains Nathan's views on the season together with pictures and information not directly about racing. It is planned to produce further issues when there is sufficient information of interest to fill the 2 pages planned.
