An American Abroad -- UK Formula Ford star Joe D'Agostino a busy man
(19 September 05)--American Joe D'Agostino has been busy of late, driving anything he can get his hands on nearly every day of the week as he continues to work toward his dream.
D'Agostino has a keen eye toward the future, and is hoping a strong performance in a recent test with Formula 3 front-runners Räikkönen Robertson Racing helps to bolster his chances in the category next season. The test at Pembrey Circuit in Wales left the American youngster impressed, and he feels as though he made an impression as well.
"I felt really fortunate and honored to get the initial test," said D'Agostino. "I really enjoyed working with the team and the car was just fantastic."
D'Agostino also made a one-off appearance in the competitive Formula Renault UK championship, adding Donington Park GP to the list of tracks that he has set track records on since moving to race in Europe this season.
With six wins and twelve podiums to his credit this season, D'Agostino intends to move up in the UK Formula Ford Championship in rounds seventeen and eighteen this weekend at Snetterton. A recent wet test in his Formula Ford at the track has him feeling ready to go this weekend, no matter what the weather.
With no race car driving on his schedule this past weekend, DAgostino instead went to watch some in action, as well as check out some of the best vintage race machinery and personalities at the Goodwood Revival.
"It has been a fantastic week for me and a great time in my life, to have spent almost every single day doing what I love most is a dream come true... I am truly blessed," said D'Agostino.
