ADRIAN CENNI IS TOP BORGWARNER SHOOTOUT QUALIFIER DURING NISMO TIME TRIALS
CRANDON, Wis. - Adrian Cenni, in his Atrium Staffing BFG Chevrolet, led a fast and talented field of PRO 4x4, 2WD and Super Stock Truck qualifiers in the Nissan Motorsports/NISMO time trials at Crandon Raceway. Cenni's qualifying time of 1:24.128 fell just .007 short of the all-time one lap record at Crandon held by Carl Renezeder. Renezeder, in his Lucas Oil Sobe BFG Nissan, was the 4th fastest qualifier in the 2007 time trials.
Cenni was followed in qualifying by Johnny Greaves time of 1:24.429 in his Potawatomi Monster BFG Toyota, Scott Douglas at 1:24.468 in his Amsoil Kumho Ford, Renezeder with a time of 1:25.179, then Josh Baldwin in the Baldwin Racing Toyo Ford with a time of 1:25.365. The fastest PRO 2WD, and 7th fastest overall, was Scott Taylor in his Skyjacker BFG Ford with a time of 1:27.222. Dan Baudoux, in the Mole Lake Casino BFG Ford, was the fastest Super Truck qualifier with a time of 1:31.224.
The World Championship Manufacturers' Shootout, sponsored by BorgWarner Corporation and BorgWarner Torque Transfer Systems, is the most prestigious in professional off-road truck racing for drivers, team owners and sponsors. PRO 4x4 trucks square off against PRO and Super Truck 2- wheel drive pickups to determine who will be off-road track racing's most celebrated champion. The 10-lap Shootout race is in its 13th year. The winner is awarded the BorgWarner sterling silver and 18K gold World Championship Manufacturers' Challenge Cup, appraised at $125,000.
Along with the BorgWarner Shootout, three PRO classes highlight the race weekend's action at Crandon Raceway along with eight SRT division battles in two rounds of WSORR racing on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's races are also for off-road's coveted World Championship titles.
