USAC's TRAXXAS OFF-ROAD CHAMPIONSHIP TEAMS UP WITH NASCAR TRUCK WEEKEND AT CHICAGOLAND
Officials of USAC's Traxxas Off-Road Championship presented by AMSOIL announced today that the 2010 series will compete at Route 66 Raceway, adjacent to Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill, in late-August.
The event will be part of Chicagoland's spectacular motorsports weekend, also featuring the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and Izod Indycar series along with ARCA and the Firestone Indy Lights.
Route 66 Raceway is an 8,000-seat arena which incorporates a half-mile dirt oval which hosted USAC Midget and Sprint Car races between 2001 and 2004.
The debut of the Traxxas Series presented by AMSOIL at Route 66 includes special evening shows under the lights on Wednesday August 25th and Thursday August 26th. The motorsports weekend continues with the NASCAR Camping World Truck race on the larger paved oval of Friday evening, followed by the Izod Indycar Series for the finale on Saturday. The event will be historical by bringing truck racing's two largest professional series into the same house with both off road and circle track action for fans.
The USAC TRAXXAS Off Road Championship presented by AMSOIL is the world's premier professional short course off road series. TORC drivers push the limits with 900 horsepower, action-packed fender pounding on challenging natural terrain racetracks. The 2010 season schedule kicks off at USA Raceway in Tucson, Arizona on May 1-2.
