Ruppel Dominates TORC Round 4 in Stock Truck

Chetek, WI (July 16, 2009) - After a lack luster performance the opening weekend of the Midwest Sportsman Traxxas TORC Series presented by AMSOIL in Crandon, Wisconsin, Eric Ruppel dominated the Stock Truck competition in Round 4 in Bark River, Michigan. The 2008 Stock Truck Champion has been fighting engine issues early on in the season. All the hard work paid off as Eric drove his #837 Phil's Inc. Art Carr Transmission Trail Ready BFGoodrich Tires Ford F-150 to a flag to flag victory.

Before the Sunday Round 4 win, Ruppel Motorsports suffered through another sub par performance. Almost immediately after the start, the engine began to run on seven cylinders. After a few laps, and a visit to the Hot Pits, Eric just idled the white and blue Ford around the track, eventually finishing in eleventh place.

Afterwards, a broken spark plug was the culprit to the poor running engine. Once the spark plug was replaced, the brand new Lee Cooper, Wolverine powerplant was ready to go.

The Sunday race was a classic case of domination. At one point the lead was large enough for Eric to back off the throttle to minimize the abuse on the Phil's Inc. Ford F-150. At the podium ceremony, Eric expressed his appreciation of his crew, Kramer and Ewert, his family, friends, and fellow racers.

Later on back at the hauler, Eric continued, " This is a great bunch of guys to race with. Everyone helps each other out to make sure we all can make starting line. My crew Kramer and Ewert are just awesome. They probably spend more time on this truck than I do. Thanks to everyone that helps out with our program. Phil's Inc., Art Carr, BFGoodrich Tires, Trail Ready, Halama Synthetics, AMSOIL, A & J Landscaping, everyone on the side of the truck."

After four rounds of racing in the TORC Sportsman Stock Truck division, Eric Ruppel is sixth out of eighteen in the Championship standings.

The next race for Ruppel Motorsports is under the lights at the Oshkosh Speed Zone, Friday night, July 24 and Saturday night July 25.
