Trenker made good start on Qatar Baja
DOHA - Qatar - 23 November 2005: Sadafco DHL TT Racing UAE-based German rider Tim Trenker his campaign for Qatar Baja title finishes the Super Special stage on 21st overall standing, 15th on bikes & seventh on open category.
Trenker suffered some mechanical problem with ignition & carburetor forced him to lose a few second and finishes just 46 seconds behind the bikes leader.
The Sadafco DHL TT Racing rider suffered also with arm injury that he hits before on 2005 UAE Desert Challenge, but he can go for the leg two on Friday.
Bikes leads went to UAE's Quad rider Mohammed Al-Shamsi, who was the fastest ahead of Spaniard Jordi Martin with UAE's Khaled Khamis third.
On Cars, local hero Nasser Saleh Al-Attiyah fly to the lead ahead of Buggy driver Russian Sergey Shmakov, Mario Cantu third ahead of 1993 Middle East Rally Champion, Qatari Sheikh Hamad Bin Eid Al-Thani & his Australian (ex. Lebanese) co-driver George Sarayan.
Motorcycle and quad riders will tackle a different version of the Qatar Baja route to the car drivers. After the 4.60 kms 'super special' stage, they will tackle a longer first selective section of 267.83 kms on Friday morning and a second 115.54 kms trail on the afternoon.
The cars will run over the shorter stage in the morning and the longer stage in the afternoon, with the entire field crossing a 115.54 kms third competitive section on Saturday morning. In a total route of 655.49 kms over the three days, 503.51 kms or 76.8% will be competitive.
