Robby Gordon hits spectator during Baja 500

The spectator tried to avoid Gordon's Chevrolet truck, but was struck in the lower legs as he tried to get off the race course.

Robby Gordon struck a spectator during this past weekend's running of the Baja 500 in Mexico. He was trying to pass Apdaly Lopez when he struck a man in the lower legs as he attempted to run out of the path of the truck, who looked to be in the middle of the course as the racers came by. Lopez went on to win the event.

There has been no official update on the severity of the injuries, though unconfirmed reports have stated that the man suffered a broken leg. Gordon's SPEED Energy Chevrolet team has not released a statement regarding the incident.

Eight other spectators also suffered minor injuries when a racer deviated from the course and hit a utility pole.
