After another successful weekend of racing on the Lucas Oil Championship Off Road Racing Series trail, a win in Round 7 and second place in Round 8, Scott Taylor now leads the Pro-2 division by 34 points.
The racetrack for the Boss Snowplow Off Road Challenge is a combination of high-speed straight-aways and jumps, as well as fast sweeping turns that tests both driver and truck. After the first practice session on Friday, the team made a couple of changes to the newly installed MSD Ignition controlled Roush Engine.
Round 7 -- Scott started in 8th position in his Mobil 1, BFGoodrich, Ford F-150. Once the dust settled on the land rush start, Scott found himself in the 4th spot. The fast, yet narrow track saw the first four trucks in a tight pack pulling away from the rest of the field. At the halfway point of the race, Scott's patience paid off as his was able to work his way into second place. Suddenly he found himself in the lead. The leader was issued a stop and go penalty for passing in a yellow flag zone. The win was Scott's third consecutive win of the year and 32nd Pro-2 win of his career.
Round 8 -- The land rush start began with a Dan Vandenhuvel getting pinched in going into the first turn. This sent his truck end over end over the safety wall and Scott high centered on the safety wall. Due to this incident the race was red flagged.
Taylor pulled right back in line and with a clean restart came out of the 1st turn in 4th position. After a couple of laps into the race Taylor improved his position to 2nd place and had his sights on the leader. On the final turn of the last lap, Taylor caught up to the leader but ran out of time and took home a respectable 2nd place win.
