Taylor heads to Crandon looking to build on past success.
Scott Taylor and his Mobil 1 BF Goodrich Tires Ford F-150 are ready for whatever the competition brings them this weekend at the Forest County Potawatomi Brush Run in Crandon, Wisconsin. Taylor is tied for the Lucas Oil CORR Pro-2 points lead with Carl Renezeder and is the defending champion of Crandon's Potawatomi Governor's Heavy Metal Challenge.
"The competition is really incredible, Carl Renezeder came on strong at the end of last year, and Dan Vanden Huvel has really stepped up his program. Of course you can never count out Evan Evans or Kevin Probst, and the so called "rookies" are really experienced drivers from different truck divisions." --Scott Taylor
Since the top 4 drivers are only 12 points apart, the next two rounds of racing at the series' fastest track are crucial for Taylor to win his fifth consecutive CORR Pro-2 title.
Concluding the weekend's events, is the 10th Annual Potawatomi Governor's Heavy Metal Challenge that pits the fastest two-wheel and four-wheel drive trucks against each other for a winner take all prize of $15,000. In 2002, Scott Taylor was the first two-wheel drive truck ever to win the event.
"This event is all about bragging rights. Last year my Crew Chief, Jeff Frana and I talked about trying a couple of new setups on the truck, just for this race and sure enough they worked. In fact, when we came back to Crandon later in the year, we used the same combination and again we came out on top." -- Scott Taylor
Rounds 5 & 6 of the Lucas Oil Championship Off-Road Racing series will take place June 21 & 22 in Crandon, Wisconsin. The 10th Annual Potawatomi Governor's Heavy Metal Challenge takes place on June 22, as well.
