Jesse JONES Drives to 7th Place Finish Amongst Nation's Top CORR Drivers

Litchfield Park, Arizona (September 24, 2006) Jones Motorsports embarked upon a new off road racing series this past weekend as Jesse Jones introduced the FABTECH / Toyo Tires PRO-2 to the fans of the CORR Lucas Oil Series.

Jesse Jones battled door-to-door with the nation's top Championship Off Road Racing drivers during the two day racing event held at the Chula Vista International Raceway. Situated on the shores of the Pacific Ocean, fans from all over Southern California arrived to the grandstands of CORR's only race track for Rounds 13 & 14 of the CORR Lucas Oil Series.

It was only one month ago that Jones Motorsports acquired a PRO-2 truck from Terrible Herbst Motorsports and after a complete prep, Jesse Jones and his crew arrived to Chula Vista prepared to race.

In Saturday's Round 13, Jones' inaugural CORR race, he roared the FABTECH / Toyo Tires PRO-2 down the 4,000 foot straightaway towards turn one at nearly 100 miles an hour before racing mayhem occurred involving half of the field. With 17 CORR PRO-2 trucks all vying for three or four top spots in turn one, it was likely to happen. The #76 PRO-2 suffered superficial damage to the hood, which partially blocked the view of rookie driver, Jesse Jones. Several laps from taking the checkered flag the #76 Ford PRO-2 suffered a blown transmission resulting in a DNF in his first ever CORR race.

"What a great racing experience. I was surprised by the aggressive nature of the racing, but we'll adapt very quickly," commented a smiling Jesse Jones.

After his first taste of CORR racing in Saturday's Round 13, Jones set in motion his race strategy for Sunday's Round 14. Taking a conservative approach into turn one, Jones drove the #76 Ford PRO-2 high onto the banked turn before sliding through the turn and accelerating down the front stretch. Settling into a solid pace, Jones mixed it up with the top drivers racing in CORR PRO-2 action. By the halfway point of the race, Jesse had moved up through the field of PRO-2's and was in 10th position. With only 8 laps to go, Jesse picked up the pace and demonstrated his driving talent as he moved through the back of the pack and into 7th position. In the final three laps, Jones mounted a charge towards Scott Douglas and Greg Adler, but was unable to catch them before taking the checkered flag in 7th position.

After the race Jesse explained, "Of course we are challenged by a steep learning curve here in our first weekend of CORR racing, but we learn quick and moving towards the next race in October we'll be that much farther ahead. We had a great time and the atmosphere is so different than desert racing. We're looking forward to racing the entire series in 2007."

Claiming a top ten finish in his first weekend of CORR racing is an accomplishment that not many can claim. Jesse Jones is an avid motor sports professional who races in many different series including oval sprint car series and off road desert racing series.

Throughout the 2006 season, Jones Motorsports has raced in three different off road series at selected races. The next event is the CORR Lucas Oil Pro Series to be held in Chula Vista, California on October 21-22, 2006 followed by the prestigious SCORE Baja 1000, to be held in Mexico beginning on November 16-18, 2006.
