RENEZEDER GRABS TWO PODIUM FINISHES IN ROUND SEVEN OF CORR SERIES
TOPEKA, Kan. (July 8, 2005) - Carl Renezeder (Newport Beach, Calif.) took the lead on lap 13 of Friday night's Pro-4 race and never looked back, taking his fourth checkered flag in round seven of the Lucas Oil Championship Off-Road Racing Series at Heartland Park Topeka.
Renezeder held off rookie Rick Huseman (Riverside, Calif.), who finished second, and Curt LeDuc (Cherry Valley, Calif.) who was just behind in third.
Huseman made the jump from Pro-Lite this season, and had never finished better than fifth until Friday. LeDuc, who was battling engine problems through most of the feature, coasted home with his best finish since round two in Lake Odessa, Mich.
Renezeder was busy in Pro-2 as well, claiming third behind Scott Douglass (El Cajon, Calif.) and Friday's winner, Dan Vanden Heuvel (Appleton, Wis.)
The Pro-2 race was perhaps the most exciting of the evening, with five drivers all vying for the top spot. Vanden Heuvel was the biggest beneficiary, winning his first race of the season.
Kyle LeDuc (Cherry Valley, Calif.) ran away with the Pro-Lite class, with Art Schmitt finishing second. The real battle was for third between Jeff Kincaid (Argonne, Wis.) and Steve Federico (Wilmette, Ill.) Federico led Kincaid with six laps remaining, but there was heavy contact and Federico couldn't recover in time to finish on the podium.
