Driver of Record Chuck Dempsey and John Harrah Capture 2nd Place Class 1 in New Jimco Champion Car

Reno, NV (December 7th, 2008) ---Speed Technologies, one of the largest off-road race teams in the US and Mexico and winners of the Teacte SCORE Baja 1000 in 2008, trumped the competition again this weekend at the Henderson FabTech Desert Classic. Driver of Record Chuck Dempsey and team owner and driver John Harrah teamed up behind the wheel of the team's new Jimco Champion car to capture the second place finish in the competitive Class 1 category.

This was the first time the team had competed with the new Champion car, but they spent many hours testing the car in the Nevada desert before the starting the race.

"This is a new kind of car and after taking second this past weekend we are positive we have a winning combination on our hands," said team manager Phil Johnson.

Chuck Dempsey started out the race sixth off the line and handed the car over to John Harrah in 1st place. Thanks to Toyo Tires and a strong pit crew the car completed the entire course with no flats and zero mechanical problems. A winning combination of aggressive, yet strategic driving, and tip top mechanical precision enabled this championship team to place so high in the rankings at this tough desert race. After the dust had settled The Speed Technologies team walked away with a second place Class 1 finish and a 3rd place overall --- beating out many of the sports top trophy trucks.

"This is our winning car," said Driver of Record Chuck Dempsey. "We've got a good thing going and Speed Technologies plans to continue their winning streak in 2009."
