Racing On The Edge -- Post & MacCachren Aim Towards Terrible's Victory
Laguna Hills, CALIFORNIA -- After a 48 day break from the desert floor, Riviera Racing charts the return of Mark Post and Rob MacCachren to the No.3 Riviera Racing trophy truck, as they prepare for Best in the Desert's Terrible's Town 250.
Riviera Racing crew chief, Jim Blackmore, has led an extensive prep on the No.3 Riviera Racing trophy truck. While the crew has been busy preparing for this important race, Mark and Rob have spent time pre-running and strategizing for the second race of the five-race Best in the Desert Silver State Series.
Coming off of back-to-back overall wins at the BITD Parker 425 and the SCORE Baja 250, Post and MacCachren, along with the crew, look forward to continuing the wave of momentum in their relatively short time together as a teammates.
"The team has blended together nicely in the first three races of the season and with eight races left, including the 40th Anniversary of the SCORE Baja 1000, we hope to continue our success charging through the desert contending for victory," commented team owner/driver, Mark Post.
In combining the two premier desert series together, the Riviera Racing duo has racked up two victories along with a fourth place finish at the SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge. They currently lead an elite field of the nation's top desert racers in Best in the Desert's Trick Truck class. They are tied at 142 points for the lead in the SCORE Desert Series Trophy Truck class.
After the Casey Folks prerun, Rob MacCachren noted, "We're looking forward to a fast race. Southern Nevada offers some of the best racing in the desert and is virtually my backyard. I have personally been racing in Southern Nevada for two decades and this is one of my favorite races. Teaming with Riviera Racing this season has been terrific and I see nothing but great things for our team in the future."
A record number of 19 pre-registered Class 1400 Trick Trucks have entered this race along with 36 pre-registered Class 1500 Unlimited Buggies. The challenging race course will travel 242-miles throughout the Southern Nevada before finishing at the Terrible's Casino in downtown Pahrump, Nevada.
The No.3 trophy truck will take to the start line of the Terrible's Town 250 time trials on Friday, April 27, 2007 at 6:00 a.m. with race action beginning Saturday, April 28, 2007 at 7:00 a.m.
