Jason Line’s goal for this weekend’s 2012 NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series finale is simple: qualify the Summit Racing Chevrolet Camaro first and then take it to the winner’s circle at the conclusion of the 48th annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals.
Despite a season with two wins and eight top-qualifiers and a likely second spot in the Pro Stock standings, Line is disappointed with 2012.
“It was an okay season,” said the perfectionist. “Winning is what counts and we just didn’t race as well as we needed to. Everyone worked hard – it wasn’t for lack of effort – and Summit and Ken Black (KB Racing owner) were terrific and supportive, as usual.
“Having said that, this weekend should be a good one for racing. The weather is supposed to be cool and it should be fast. This track (Auto Club Raceway at Pomona) is one of my favorite. We start the season here and end it here, and I am looking to end my season on a high note.”
