SUMMIT SERIES UNDER WAY AT BANDIMERE

MORRISON, Colo. - Racing kicked off today at Bandimere Speedway for the NHRA West Central Division Summit Racing Series Finals after a lengthy delay from Mother Nature. After morning and afternoon rain showers, more than 500 racers took to the track for initial rounds of time trials.

Racers in four separate eliminators will be vying for more than $100,000 in cash and contingency awards this weekend along with both individual, and team championships. Sunday's event winners in Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman, and Motorcycle/Snowmobile will advance to the Summit Racing Series National Championship held at the Auto Club of Southern California NHRA Finals in November.

The defending Team Champions from Heartland Park Topeka are looking to defend their title this weekend while racers in the High School category will be competing for individual honors.

Racing continues Saturday at 9 a.m. with final time trails along with eliminations for the Race of Champions, a race with in a race competition.
