GLENDORA, Calif. (March 6, 2002) - Adriane Pierson has been named vice president of publications for the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), effective immediately.

Pierson, who with the promotion becomes the first female vice president in NHRA history, will oversee the daily operation for all NHRA publications, including National DRAGSTER, the official magazine of NHRA.

"I'm very pleased to welcome Adriane to my executive team," said Tom Compton, president, NHRA. "She has excelled at every level of her employment at NHRA during the last decade and I feel confident in her ability to continue to make National DRAGSTER and all of our NHRA-produced publications among the most visually stimulating and editorially informative on the market."

Pierson was hired in 1992 as business manager for publications and was promoted to director of publications in 1997. Before joining NHRA she worked as a graphic designer for a Los Angeles-based advertising agency and prior to that served as a systems engineer for a computer consulting firm.

"I am viewing this promotion as a vote of confidence in the efforts of the entire publications department," Pierson said. "I have an incredible team, and what I have been able to accomplish is a direct result of their support and dedication."

She holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from Cal State University, San Bernardino as well as a master's of business administration with an emphasis in finance, also from CSUSB.

She lives in Temecula with her three children, Courtney, 21, Adam, 19 and Ian, 19.
