TOPEKA, Kan. (Sunday May 27) - Mark Whisnant, driver of the PiranaZ Chevrolet S-10, entered the 13th Annual Advance Auto Parts NHRA Nationals hold the ninth position on the Pro Stock Truck elimination ladder.

In Round 1 Whisnant was paired against Taylor Lastor. Lastor ran a 7.536 / 178.87 mph to defeat Whisnant who ran a 7.559 / 177.95 mph.

"We really need a break," said Whisnant. "It seems like we are good to race against, because for some reason everyone who races me has their best run ever against me. We definitely need some luck. We need a break and I'm sure it will come our way soon.

"I am not unhappy with now we have run here this weekend. Naturally I would have liked to have gone some more rounds, but I can feel it coming.

"Right now we are making the most of everything we have. We a wringing everything we can out of this motor, and have been working hard on our set-up. I am looking forward to taking delivery of our new Jenkins motor. I think that when we do we will see all our hard work pay off.

"We are going to put this weekend behind us and concentrate on Chicago."

The next stop for the Pro Stock Trucks is the Lucas Oil Products NHRA Nationals May 31 though June 3 in Chicago, Ill.
