LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- One hundred seventy five Super Gas racers turned out for the Sixth annual ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA® Nationals, part of the NHRA® POWERade® Drag Racing Series. Team Toyo's Bob Harris Jr., having recently finished as the runner up in the NHRA® Pacific SPORTSnationals, was among the mix of dedicated drag racing enthusiasts with his Toyo Proxes' Drag Slicks equipped 2000 Corvette. Following seven hotly contested elimination rounds, Harris Jr. remained on top to challenge and defeat Richard Okerman in the eighth and final round, edging him out by 1/1,000 of a second and taking the national event win.
Adding to a growing list of victories, this most recent win bolsters the emerging reputation of the new Toyo Proxes' Drag Slick as the premier tire for consistency and longevity, two qualities that are critical in drag racing. According to Hideki Ueha, Senior Staff Engineer and Product Manager, Racing and High Performance Tires, Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corporation, "We congratulate Bob Harris Jr. on his national win. This is Toyo's second National Event win, the first coming from Thomas Bayer in November 2004." To learn more about the exciting new Proxes' Drag Slicks Log on to toyo.com.
