ST. LOUIS, Sept. 26, 2012–There’s no motivation quite like the push and support you get from fans, according to Bob Tasca III. Especially Ford fans.
“It’s been fun,” Tasca said of his fourth career win and his first since Englishtown 2010. “For me, I’ve always said the greatest motivation I get is from the fans, especially Ford fans. Your fans, family and friends always believe in you and want so much for you to succeed and win.
“To come back with that trophy and get 1,000 e-mails and comments on our social media pages, there’s just an overwhelming outpouring of support from all of the fans that want to see us succeed and follow us every week. Living up to those expectations has been a lot of fun.”
Tasca won in a dramatic pedalfest. He turned on the win light with a 4.826-second lap at 197.59 mph in the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Shelby Mustang to runner-up Matt Hagan’s 5.025 at 188.15 after defeating Alexis DeJoria, Ford teammate Courtney Force and Cruz Pedregon in the early rounds.
“On Sunday I celebrated with the team in Dallas,” Tasca said. “It’s great for the guys. They worked so hard. They put three motors in to get that win on Sunday in very difficult conditions. It’s fun to have dinner with the team and see the smiles on everyone’s faces. Losing’s tough, winning’s great, but you’ve got to take your lickings along the way to appreciate the wins.”
Tasca anticipates cooler weather the last four races of the year should bring, starting this weekend in St. Louis.
“It’s great to be back in a great city to put on a drag race,” Tasca said. “Conditions should be different than we saw in Dallas. These are the conditions I’m looking forward to getting back into; conditions we ran extremely well in at the beginning of the year. We just lacked consistency, and we’ve been working on that.”
