TASCA RACING ADDS DENNER AS ASSISTANT CREW CHIEF IN 2009

RICHMOND, Virginia (Oct. 11, 2008) -- In a move to continue to grow and improve his racing team, Bob Tasca III will add Marc Denner as Assistant Crew Chief to the Tasca Racing team roster for the 2009 season. Denner will join current Crew Chief, Chris Cunningham, with tuning duties on the Motorcraft/Quick Lane Shelby Mustang Funny Car.

"I'm really honored to be able to join Tasca Racing next season," said Denner. "I've got a great relationship and history working with Chris and a lot of guys on that team and it's going to be good to team back up with them for the 2009 season."

Denner, who has spent the past 12 seasons working within the Worsham Racing organization, is currently Car Chief on Del Worsham's Funny Car. With the recent announcement of Worsham moving to a new team next season, the timing was right for both Tasca and Denner to make this addition to the race team for next season.

"It was always my intention of having a brain trust that can work together on this car and on this team, because two minds are better than one," said driver and team owner, Tasca. "Chris has done an amazing job this season, but he has really been doing it alone. It's certainly going to be a boost to our program to bring in a guy like Marc who has a lot of experience and has worked well with Chris for many years to our team. I think he will add another level of knowledge and experience to compliment what Chris has brought to the table to make us a more competitive team next year."

From 2003-2007, Denner and Cunningham were co-crew chiefs together on the second Worsham entry, most recently with driver Jeff Arend.

"Having Marc here next season to look at data and help me analyze it is going to be extremely helpful," said Cunningham. "The two of us worked really well together for five years over at Del's and we've already established a great working relationship. With Marc, he may pull up the computer screen and look at it and see something completely different than what I see and suggest trying something new.

"You don't want a guy that agrees with you all of the time, but you don't want a guy that fights you on every decision," said Cunningham. "You both have to have a working idea on how to run the car and Marc will bring another pair of eyes to see if something may be right or wrong. It's going to be a great balance to bring to the team and I'm really excited about next season."

"A big factor with our team is chemistry," said Tasca. "Chris and a lot of the guys on this team have already worked with Marc and have a great chemistry with him. I think all successful teams need great chemistry, and then obviously you have to have the experience and skill to make the right decisions, which Marc certainly has. From multiple aspects, this is going to be a really positive move for our team going into next year."

Denner and his wife Krysta, along with their son Jake, will relocate to the Charlotte area to be near Tasca Racing's new race shop in nearby Concord, North Carolina.
