Weather Gets the Best of NHRA Summit Racing Series Southeast Division Finals

CECIL, GA. -- The best of the best in NHRA's Southeast Division Summit Racing Series have converged on South Georgia Motorsports Park to compete for team and individual honors at the 2007 Finals. More then 500 drivers in Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman and Super Pro Bike will compete for team and individual honors. Unfortunately for them and all else involved, weather forced NHRA and track officials to postpone racing until Saturday.

Saturday is sure to have plenty of action featuring both the Race of Champions and the Southeast division finals. The Race of Champions is a race within a race that pits the top points-earning drivers in each class from participating tracks against each other in head-to-head competition for there share of the $4,700 purse. If this wasn't enough the division finals race winners in each category will advance to compete against winners from NHRA's other six divisions at the NHRA Finals in Pomona, Calif., in November. Each winner will receive $3,500 regardless of there performance at the finals and the winners will pocket an additional $5,000.
