Division 7 Drag Races Fact Sheet

WHAT: Infineon Raceway will host the NHRA Bank of the West/InReach Internet Division 7 Drag Races. The event is presented by KFTY News Channel 50/Live 105. The weekend will feature exciting racing action in eight divisions, highlighted by Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car in the NHRA's Lucas Oils Division 7 Drag Racing Series. These dragsters feature 3,000 horsepower and can rocket down the strip at 250 mph in less than six seconds. Total purse for the event is $142,000.

WHERE: Infineon Raceway, Highways 37 & 121, Sonoma.

WHEN: Gates open at Infineon on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 7:30 a.m. Time trials and qualifying will take place on both Friday and Saturday, with final eliminations for all classes beginning at 8:15 a.m. on Sunday.

COURSE: Quarter-mile drag strip

WHAT TO EXPECT: This will mark the first official competition of NHRA-powered machines on Infineon Raceway's brand-new quarter-mile drag strip. The strip now features a 660-foot concrete launch pad, and it has been separated from the road course. John Geyer, who will compete in the FRAM Autolite Nationals in August, set the fastest elapsed-time ever recorded for Pro Stock at Infineon Raceway recently, setting the stage for what should be record runs both this weekend, and in August for the Nationals. * Brandon Bernstein will not return to defend the Top Alcohol Dragster title he won at Infineon Raceway last year, opening the door for pilot Mark Niver. Niver lost in the finals last year. * Steve Gasparrelli is the defending champion for Top Alcohol Funny Car.

TICKETS: Tickets are $5 on Friday, $20 on Saturday, and $20 on Sunday. A three-day pass is available for $45 in advance. Children 12 and under are free. For more information call 800-870-RACE or visit www.infineonraceway.com.
