Friday qualifying finds Angelle sitting 3rd in Sonoma.

The Pro Stock Motorcycles made their Infineon Raceway debut during the first day of qualifying for the FRAM-Autolite Nationals. As expected, Angelle Savoie and the Star Racing Suzuki were among the top performers, recording two of the quickest passes in the division. After scorching the Sonoma quarter-mile with a class-best 7.197 seconds with a top speed of 183.97 mph on her first attempt, the current POWERade points leader came back in the evening session with a solid 7.200 sec., 184.19 mph pass, good enough for third halfway through qualifying. Naturally, Angelle and the Star Racing team will look to Saturday's final two time trials to reclaim the number one position.

"To be honest, we really don't feel as if we've made a good run yet. The barometer we like to use is the Pro Stock Cars. For example, the low qualifier tonight in the cars ran a 6.80, so we feel our Suzuki should be able to run a 7.10. Since we haven't done that yet, we need to look over our runs and see how we can improve.

"The good news is that today is only Friday, and we still have two more shots at the No. 1 position, as well as getting more information to prepare for Sunday. The Star Racing Suzuki has been good, but we're confident that it will be even better."
