Tony Pedregon Grabs Seventh Slot 'Q' Racing Solid During Seattle Qualifying

KENT, Wash. (July 22, 2005) -- Tony Pedregon qualified his 'Q' Racing Nitro Funny Car in the top half of the field taking the seventh position for this weekend's CARQUEST Auto Parts NHRA Nationals at Pacific Raceways. Pedregon logged a 4.806-second elapsed time at 318.62 mph'

The California native talked about what he expects during tomorrow's eliminations.

"Unfortunately we had trouble with a plug nozzle during the first run of the day," commented Pedregon. "But we got the problem resolved and afterwards decided to put on a conservative run."

"The 'Q' Racing team is very glad we qualified in the top half of the field and feel good about our chances for tomorrow. I feel that this team has had the performance, and now we are pairing it up with consistency as well. I want to say that the 'Q' oil has proven that it can carry us through at a mile high or at sea level. It is nice to know you can have total confidence in a product."

Pedregon will face qualifier No. 10, Tim Wilkerson, during the first round of Sunday's eliminations.
