KENT, Wash. (July 29, 2000) - The following is a summary of quotes from Dodge Motorsports and Team Mopar drivers after the third round of qualifying for the Prolong Superlubricants Northwest Nationals at Seattle International Raceway.

(Numbers denote elapsed time, speed, qualifying position and qualifying lane)

(LARRY MORGAN, driver of the Dodge Motorsports Pro Stock Avenger)

(6.973 - 198.64 - 19th - Left)

"We are changing the clutch for this round, and we should have done that when we got here. We thought that we could adjust it, but it hasn't worked out. We are still fast because we we're seventh in speed. I know we have plenty of power, but we need to figure this clutch problem out.

They (the three qualifying runs) we're all about the same. We were real light off the starting line. We just kept putting more and more clutch in it and nothing happened. It's just the clutch, and we'll get it fixed."

(SCOTT GEOFFRION, driver of the Team Mopar Pro Stock Dodge Avenger)

(6.956 - 197.42 - 15th - Left)

"The car is real consistent. We still need a little help at 60 foot, but we're getting better. I can't complain. During that last session, we were the 11th quickest car, which is good. If I can make any sort of a good run in that right lane, and it's fast enough, I can move up. If not, we're still racing tomorrow. That's what we're here for. "

(DARRELL ALDERMAN, driver of the Team Mopar Pro Stock Dodge Avenger)

(6.935 - 198.52 - ninth - Right)

"The right lane was good to us that last run. The car let up a little bit through third and fourth gear. I saw the racetrack pretty good, which wasn't the case in the first two runs. It staged pretty well and we're pretty pleased with the run.

"I think the conditions won't be as good for this last session. We would like to pick up another hundredth or two if we could. With the way we're running, it's possible."

(DEAN SKUZA, driver of the Matco Tools/Mopar Parts Dodge Avenger Nitro Funny Car)

(5.051 - 293.09 - Eighth - Right)

"Our setup was perfect and we wanted to run a mid-90 (Skuza smoked the tires). That's what we're going to do this time. We just got out of the groove on that last run. The left lane is way better than the right lane. It's hard to figure this track out at times. Lane choice is extremely crucial here, so that's what we're going for on this last run. We just don't want to be stuck in that right lane."
