Line No. 11 in one session that Mother Nature didn't win

KENT, Wash. (July 21, 2007) -- Jason Line finished qualifying in the No. 11 positions in the one qualifying session that didn't yield to the rain after Mother Nature took over the other three.

Rain cancelled all racing activity for all classes on Friday, the first day of qualifying for the 20th annual NHRA Schuck's Auto Supply Nationals at Pacific Raceways in Kent, Wash., just a stone throw from Seattle.

With an iffy forecast for Saturday, racing did finally get underway Saturday morning. In the first qualifying session for Pro Stock, Jason Line drove his KB Racing LLC, Summit Racing Equipment Pontiac GTO to an elapsed time of 6.704 seconds.

Then it started raining -- again. This time the rain put an end to pro qualifying with Jason having only one chance to qualify.

"We didn't get to test the track enough with only one run," said Line following a weather plagued two days of qualifying. "It was tough but it could be worst. At least we qualified, although not as high as I would have liked. Everybody is in the same boat and we all start as equals during eliminations."

In the opening round of eliminations tomorrow, Line faces V. Gaines, who qualified No. 6.
