Herbert Qualifies Eleventh in Seattle

In the final session of the weekend, Doug Herbert qualified the SnaponFranchise.com Top Fuel dragster in the No. 11 position at Seattle's Pacific Raceways. The dragster had the lowest ET of the round and was the top seed from the 330-foot split to the 1,000-foot cone.

"We had some fuel system issues on Friday," said Co-Crew Chief Keith Stewart. "That was partly because we came from Denver, at such a high altitude, to Seattle, at sea level. Here the air conditions are better and the car uses more fuel. Today we had a new program and a new intention, and it paid off with that final run. We really turned things around."

Herbert will face No. 6 qualifier Larry Dixon in the first round of eliminations Sunday. His most recent win over Dixon came at Sonoma last year when he was the No. 1 qualifier and beat Dixon in the second round

"Having the best run of the final session today is critical," said Herbert. The conditions for that session are similar to what it'll be like tomorrow on race day. That run really shows that we're in a good position to win the race tomorrow."
