KENT, Wash. (July 28, 2000) - The following is a summary of quotes from Dodge Motorsports and Team Mopar drivers after the second round of qualifying for the Prolong Superlubricants Northwest Nationals at Seattle International Raceway.

(Numbers denote elapsed time, speed, qualifying position and qualifying lane)

(LARRY MORGAN, driver of the Dodge Motorsports Pro Stock Avenger) (6.989 - 198.09 - 21st - Right )

"The thing seemed to shut off in first gear. It was also slow in second gear. It's like there is something wrong with the fuel pump. We were 24th at the beginning of the run and we were ninth in top speed. I know I can run, it's just a matter of getting it down the track. It's so much different than Denver. I'm sure we're going to run and qualify. It's the idea of not being able to qualify in the first two sessions that bothers me. We'll be all right though."

(SCOTT GEOFFRION, driver of the Team Mopar Pro Stock Dodge Avenger) (6.956 - 197.42 - 13th - Right)

"I made a good run except for low gear where it shook real hard. Other than that, it was pretty good. It was a good, straight run. When we hit the 60-foot mark, we we're 19th. If we figure out the first 60-foot, there is no reason why we shouldn't qualify in the top half of the field. We look pretty good for tomorrow's sessions.

"The left lane is better through the first two gears, and the right lane is better through the rest of the gears. So you trade one foe the other. The left lane is real bumpy after second gear, and the right lane just isn't as good on the starting line. It's almost a wash."

(DARRELL ALDERMAN, driver of the Team Mopar Pro Stock Dodge Avenger) (6.961 - 197.05 - 16th - Left)

"The car seemed to run a lot better. We pointed it to the right of the lane on the launch that time. The car was out of the groove and seemed like it was off the ground as much as it was on the ground. We were quick through third and fourth gear, so we're hoping that we can get in. With some cloud cover tomorrow, and a good, clean run, we should qualify in the top half of the field."

"I think we'll be all right in the right lane. The guys ran real well in that lane, so we are in good shape."

(DEAN SKUZA, driver of the Matco Tools/Mopar Parts Dodge Avenger Nitro Funny Car) (5.051 - 293.09 - seventh - Left)

"We we're real conservative on that run. We just wanted to get solidly into the show and we did. I had to shut it off at the top end because I think we threw a rod. We found a baseline after the first run, and we're able to capitalize on that. This is always a tough track to figure out. We are in good shape."
