INDIANAPOLIS (Dec. 19, 2001) -- Don Schumacher Racing announced that with the addition of the Oakley Funny Car, driven by Scotty Cannon, the public relations for the team's two-car Funny Car operation will be handled by David Ferroni of DMF Communications, beginning with the 2002 NHRA season.

Ferroni will oversee the public relations efforts for the Oakley car and the Matco Tools Funny Car, driven by Whit Bazemore. Ferroni's responsibilities will include working with the national and local media and assisting Don Schumacher Racing with its promotional programs relating to the two Funny Car teams.

Ferroni has worked as a public relations representative for major motorsports sponsors and teams on the NHRA circuit since 1986 and also worked in the same capacity on the NASCAR circuit.

Heidi Garner, who handled the public relations for the Matco Tools Funny Car in 2001, will continue with Don Schumacher Racing in an expanded role as vice president of sponsor relations.
