Knoll-Gas Energy Pontiac Seventh with 6.681-second Effort

RICHMOND, Va., Oct. 5, 2007 -- Justin Humphreys made the most of good conditions Friday night at Virginia Motorsport Park in Dinwiddie, stopping the clock in 6.681 seconds at 206.45 mph, putting him seventh going into Saturday's final qualifying for Sunday's Torco Racing Fuels Nationals.

"We were happy with it," he said. "The car went from A to B on a track that was marginal (following an afternoon rain that wiped out one qualifying run) and NHRA's Safety Safari did a good job of getting it back together.

"Bob (Glidden, team consultant) said he was going to get after the tune-up and he did. We are definitely excited about the way the car ran."

He has two more runs Saturday before the 16-car field is set for Sunday's eliminations.
