Starting Fourth, Line Aims High in Reading

Summit Racing Pro Stock racer Jason Line completed another solid qualifying performance on Saturday, posting the quickest time in the morning session to claim the fourth starting position for Sunday's final eliminations of the Toyo Tires Nationals in Reading, PA. In three of the four sessions at Maple Grove Raceway, Line was among the quickest in the 24-car field, highlighted by his 6.565-second, 210.60 mph on his third attempt. Although this marks the sixth consecutive race in which he has earned a Top Five starting position, Line's focus was on converting his performance into success on race day.

"Once again, I had a great Summit Racing Pontiac in qualifying," said Line. "What's important now is that we go out and capitalize on it. We're not necessarily the fastest car out there, but we're pretty close to being there, which is not a bad thing. We just have to keep digging, finding ways to make our cars better.

"Between Greg's (teammate Anderson) and my Summit Racing Pontiacs and Ronnie's (Humphrey, who is running a car leased from KB Racing) Genuine Hotrod Hardware GXP, we have three cars capable of winning the race tomorrow. What we need to do now is make the most of the opportunity, and put one of them in the winner's circle tomorrow night."
