Pomona, Calif. (Nov. 11) - Greg Stanfield, driver of the DBP Enterprises Chevrolet S-10 Pro Stock Truck, will enter tomorrows eliminations at the 15th Annual Auto Club of Southern California NHRA Finals holding the number 3 spot on the eliminations ladder.

In the third session of qualifying Stanfield drove is S-10 to a 7.508 / 180.09 mph to take the number three slot.

When eliminations get under way at the Pomona Raceway Stanfield will meet Charlie Greco in Round 1.

"I am going to take it one round at a time tomorrow," said Stanfield of Bossier City, La. "Tomorrow is going to be a drivers race. The race will be won on reaction time and consistency.

"I definitely have been working on my reaction times lately. Earlier in the season when we were down on performance, I kind of let my lights go. But now that our performance is back where it should be, I am concentrating on my driving.

"Tomorrow lane choice is not going to be a factor, it is going to be the guy in the other lane. You can't over look anyone in this class, so I am going to take it one round at a time. Make the best run I can make, and not beat myself. If I do that we could possibly see the winner's circle tomorrow night."

Owner / driver Bart Price was not as successful as his teammate Stanfield.

In the third round of qualifying Price got out of shape and did not improve on his performance from the previous sessions. Rain in the late afternoon forced NHRA officials to cancel the last session of qualifying. Without his the last qualifying round Price found himself in the 18th position, and on the outside looking in.

"We had a bad lap in the last session," said Price. "I got out of shape and could not recover. I think if we had got that last session in, I would have probably put my truck in the top half of the field. Everyone has a bad run from time to time. I had a bad run at the wrong time."

Eliminations at the 15th Annual Auto Club of Southern California NHRA Finals begins promptly at 11:00 Am PST.
