John began the third session sitting in the No. 8 spot. He improved during the third session by running a 7.524 at 178.64 mph. John slipped one position and ended up in the No. 9 spot.

"We made a good run during the third session," said John. "We just needed to make a better run. The conditions were there for us we just did not capitalize on the opportunity enough."

Mike rolled into the third session holding down the No. 7 position. Mike also improved over his previous qualifying time. He ran a 7.523 at 179.09 mph and moved down to the No. 8 spot.

"We learned some things from the runs that Jeg and Troy made in their Pro Stock cars that should translate into a performance improvement for our trucks," explained Mike.

The final and fourth qualifying session was canceled due to rain. Mike and John Coughlin will battle in the opening round of the season finale.
