Team Jeg's Two Strong after Friday

Troy Coughlin found himself one spot shy of the quick sixteen after the first round of qualifying on Thursday. He entered the second qualifying session on Friday with high hopes of getting his Jeg's Mail Order Cavalier qualified deep into the field.

Troy improved in Friday's session with a 6.91 second pass at 181.25 mph.

"It was a much better pass for us," commented Troy. "Several cars stepped up that round, fortunately we were able to improve and get my Jeg's Mail Order Chevrolet into the show. The competition isn't going to get any easy as the weekend progresses, so It was pretty important to get our performance headed in the right direction."

Jeg Coughlin was the second of the racing brothers to qualify in second round action. Jeg's run was nearly a carbon copy of the pass made earlier in the session by brother Troy. Both drivers had their hands full of steering wheel as each of the Jeg's Cavaliers made hard moves out of the groove at the drop of the throttle.

"The car was pretty loose off the start," said Jeg. "That certainly affected our time. It was still a pretty solid pass, but we will certainly look to step it up tomorrow."

After two rounds of qualifying, Troy Coughlin occupies the No.16 spot, while Jeg holds steady at No.10.
