POMONA, Calif., Nov. 11, 2006 -- Cory McClenathan and the Carrier Boyz Racing FRAM Boost Top Fuel team posted back-to-back qualifying runs of 4.559 and 4.561 seconds in preparation for Sunday's season-ending Auto Club Finals at Pomona Raceway.

The quickest run came Friday and put him 11th in the starting line-up. He followed that with the 4.561 in Saturday's first outing and shut off the engine early in the last session that was run in ideal conditions. McClenathan meets Larry Dixon (No. 6, 4.508 at 331.12 mph) in the first round.

Cory Mac said crew chief Wes Cerny and assistant crew chief Tony Shortall "were very aggressive on the last run and the car shook the tires. They were going for the fences. Obviously we have a good car that can get down the track consistently. What we need to do Sunday to make sure we finish in the POWERade Series top 10 is go rounds. Our car is running well."
