ANTRON BROWN IMPROVES FRIDAY AT POMONA AT 3.905-SECONDS

POMONA, Calif. (Nov. 11, 2010) - Antron Brown drove his Don Schumacher-owned Matco Tools/U.S. Army dragster to the provisional No. 8 qualifying position Friday afternoon at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona. The defending event winner of the NHRA season-ending event clocked an elapsed time of 3.905-seconds.

Brown, who entered day two of the final race on the 2010 NHRA schedule in the No. 18 position, used Brian Corradi and Mark Oswald horsepower to post a lap of 3.905 seconds at 312.28 mph at the historic Pomona track. That moved the Matco-backed rail up 10 slots to the provisional No. 8 position. It was the fifth quickest pass of the day in Top Fuel. Brown qualified fourth at the Auto Club Finals last November at 3.813-seconds.

"That was a good lap for our Matco Tools team here at DSR," Brown said. "It was crucial for us to get down the track and in the show and we did that. That 3.90 was a good starting point, now we can focus on improving on Saturday and making two good runs and getting ready for race day."
