EXIDE BATTERIES TOP FUEL DRAGSTER TO HAVE NEW PAINT SCHEME IN 2000

POMONA, CA, November 13 - When the clouds of nitromethane dissipate over the L.A. County Fairplex this weekend, Tony Schumacher and the Exide Batteries Racing Team will have clinched their first NHRA Top Fuel title. Giving the first sign this young Championship team isn't about to rest on it's laurels, it unveiled it's new "Millennium look" paint scheme for the year 2000.

During Saturday's schedule of activities surrounding the 35th annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals, Schumacher, along with Exide's Director of Racing, Paul Mecca pulled the cover off to reveal the new paint scheme which will adorn the Exide Top Fuel dragster in the coming year.

"In many ways, it's a new start for Exide, so we felt our racing programs should reflect that as well for next season," said Mecca. "Hence the new paint scheme, which I believe will be welcomed by everyone."

Gordon Lane, Exide's Vice President of Marketing adds that this "refreshing and unique appearance" should be just the ticket for next year. "After all, I certainly couldn't ask for a better performance from the Top Fuel team than the one they delivered this year. The tradition of successful racing in the Schumacher family continues."

In addition to the Winston Champion Top Fuel dragster, Schumacher's teammates in the various NASCAR series will also have the same new and exciting paint scheme for the year 2000.
