Troy is ready for race day.
Troy Coughlin and Team JEG'S wanted to pick up right where they left off Friday and that is exactly what he did.
Troy posted a 6.852 at 201.46 mph. The run was the third quickest of the session and the second quickest in the left lane.
"We were able to tune off of my run yesterday in the left lane and the run Jeg made in the same lane," explained Troy. "We need to clean up the first 100-feet of the run before tomorrow morning. I think all-in-all we are headed in the right direction."
In the final qualifying session Troy moved back over to the right lane. The run was not an improvement and he stayed in the No. 5 position. He ran a 6.877 at 200.95 mph.
"We are really looking forward to be a threat on race day (tomorrow)," noted Troy. "Our group is really starting to gel and it is an exciting time. We have everything in place that it takes to win in NHRA's most competitive professional class."
Troy will have lane choice when he faces off against Greg Stanfield in the first round. The pairing will put a Chevy Cavalier and Dodge Neon into the ring to battle it out.
